Teal Suns: An Interview with Self.

Below is an interview of Teal Suns, by Teal Suns. Yes He is interviewing himself, and It's his right as a human being to interview himself interviewing himself being interviewed by himself.... let's get started

Teal Suns: Glad to have you here today, Teal. I'm going to ask you a few questions if that's alright with you.

Teal Suns: what are they about?

Teal Suns: Just some general questions about your art and process. stuff your fans want to know.

Teal Suns: Did they create the questions?

Teal Suns: Sure why not. Let's get started with the first question. What is your main inspiration for your art?

Teal Suns: ya mammy.

Teal Suns: ...

Teal Suns: well not exclusively but yes she is included. Everything is. I draw inspiration from everything in life, from waiting at a bus stop, to celebrating a birthday, i like to hide the messages behind what the characters are doing.

Teal Suns: and what messages are those?

Teal Suns: well each everyday instance I pull inspiration from contains a certain feeling. If i can capture that feeling and then dramatize it with these symbolic characters, well then someone else can view it and it will translate in their subconscious mind and make them feel what i was feeling when i created it. Chances are They can recognize the feeling or have had it before. We're not all that different.

Teal Suns: You really believe that?

Teal Suns: Most definately.

Teal Suns: That's what matters.

Teal Suns: next question.

Teal Suns: Easy there, Buckaroni. Why dont you tell me more about your characters?

Teal Suns: you could just look at the character list  on the website.

Teal Suns: ok well you could just interview yourself then?

Teal Suns: ...

Teal Suns: ......

Teal Suns:  Smart ass... well King B'Eldi is my main character. i most identify with him and his actions reflect my own. all of the character's are really extensions of myself though. I call them the Holiday Killers because they go around overthrowing what i call false parties, common holiday stories and fairy tales. Lies and widely accepted illusions basically. There is King B'eldi, the leader, MoaiC, the seer, Liliaan(also known as Lil Pedlar) the producer, and Sal E.T. the Teacher.

Teal Suns: what cartoons influenced you growing up?

Teal Suns: ah man where do i start? Courage the Cowardly Dog was a staple, Rugrats, Spongebob's classic episodes. Kids Next Door, Family Guy, South Park, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Dragon Ball Z, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Dexter's Lab, i really have too many to just list. a whole Childhood's worth!

Teal Suns: alright then, Mr Novel-

Teal Suns: Oh! speaking of which I'm working on a graphic novel of sorts!

Teal Suns: I didnt ask about that.

Teal Suns: yeah i know! anyways it's called Sketches for Booking Installment 2: Welcome to Mad Farm. It's really going to show what the Holiday killers are all about, how they interact, etc.

Teal Suns: Does it come with a mixtape?

Teal Suns: no.

Teal Suns: Biscuit?

Teal Suns: hell no.

Teal Suns: Suit yourself. These just came out the oven.

Teal Suns: ...

Teals Suns: (munching biscuit)

Teal Suns: ....

Teal Suns: Delicous. Now, Teal, why do you make art?

Teal Suns: I really have no choice.

Teal Suns: oh yeah? why is that?

Teal Suns: Because Art is honest expression. Whether we like it or not we're all going to have to honestly express ourselves. Even if it isn't until the moment we die and express the fact that we can no longer live. What's more honest than death?

Teal Suns: I guess I'm going to have to be more specific for you abstract nihilist children these days. WHY DO YOU DRAW PICTURES?

Teal Suns: Because it's what i do. Ive always done it, Always considered it part of life. Always made it a point to keep it in my life.

Teal Suns: Who is your target audience?

Teal Suns: Whoever is willing to look.

Teal Suns: Oh how witty. Describe your ideal work environment

Teal Suns: I like to have music playing but it's not required. depends on if I'm trying to combat another noise outside of my control. I also tend to zone out as if /i am alone, regardless of if i am or not. I can draw with an audience but I prefer to be left alone.

Teal Suns: so you like to control the creative atmosphere?

Teal Suns: exactly. but i find i create some of my best drawings while waiting on something or multitasking. i love drawing while doing laundry and I've always drew in class when i finished work early.

Teal Suns: When did  you realize that you wanted to be an official, professional, full time, OG, Artist?

Teal Suns: I knew early. Like as a little kid, it was the only thing that really satisfied my desire to have a goal. Does that make sense? nothing else was as wantable as that. It is my original passion, and although ive explored different skills and talents, the art never loses priority.

Teal Suns: *sniff* wow.

Teal Suns: any more questions?

Teal Suns: None from me. But to the readers! Feel free to send fan mail, inquries and requests to tealsuns@yahoo.com and go like us on Facebook! Also follow the instagram @tealsuns.
